For in-office treatment, Port Clinton Dental Care offers unique GLO Science Professional Whitening. This system can provide a dramatic change with a single treatment and prevent post-whitening sensitivity with long-lasting results. GLO, or Guided Light Optics, uses a combination of gentle heat and light distributed inside a unique, enclosed mouthpiece. As the light activates professional-strength whitening gel, the mouthpiece prevents oxygen from escaping. This feature is important because it is the process of oxygenation that breaks apart deep molecular stains in the enamel of the teeth.

Treatment first takes place in the dentist’s chair, divided into five eight-minute sessions. After this one appointment, GLO reveals a remarkably bright, vivid smile, with average improvement of five shades. You will also be able to take the GLO system with you to maintain your results from the convenience of your own home.

Opalescence® at Home

We also provide patients with options for at-home treatment. For the earliest possible results, you can use the Opalescence whitening system. For this kit, we will typically take impressions of your teeth to create customized trays. You will fill these trays with a gentle, safe carbamide peroxide formula and wear them for 30 minutes a day or overnight with a lower-dose formula.
